Destination 2011: Québec
Following an evaluation period in 2009–2010, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) will build on the success of this excellent program with its next Mission in 2011, bringing a delegation of municipal decision-makers on a study tour of leading sustainable community development projects in Québec.
The delegation will visit innovative green sites in Montréal and Québec city as well as other stops along the Montréal–Québec corridor, enjoying behind-the-scenes site tours of excellent green infrastructure projects and presentations on leading practices in sustainability. A preliminary program is now available.
Learn from your peers how policies, programs and technologies have been used in Québec municipalities to make their communities more sustainable.
The FCM Sustainable Communities Mission is a bilingual event. All elected and non-elected municipal officials from across Canada are invited to participate in this excellent learning experience.

About the FCM Sustainable Communities Mission
The annual FCM Sustainable Communities Mission is a study tour that showcases sustainable initiatives for municipal decision-makers. The prime objective of the Mission is to learn from officials in the public and private sectors of the host communities how policies, programs and technologies have been used to create more sustainable communities. The Mission provides Canadian municipalities with a valuable learning experience that demonstrates, first-hand, how the concept of sustainability supports sustainable community development and generates economic and environmental benefits locally and nationally.
The Mission is a key program offered through FCM’s Green Municipal Fund. It aims to inform and inspire leaders who are in positions to replicate these leading examples of sustainable community development.
FCM has led municipal delegations to Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom, Alberta and British Columbia. Find out more about
