CMHC funds stronger communities
Through its new Municipal Infrastructure Lending Program, CMHC provides municipalities with low-cost loans for municipal infrastructure projects supporting new or existing residential areas. This new source of funds will significantly decrease the cost of borrowing for municipalities, and can be used by them to fund their contribution for cost-shared federal infrastructure programming. For more information on how your municipality can benefit, visit the CMHC website.

As cities and communities begin to take advantage of federal stimulus funding, it is important to note that GMF funding can also be stacked against federal funding to represent the municipal contribution to innovative environmental infrastructure projects that improve air, water and soil quality, and protect the climate.
