GMF offers loans for brownfield remediation projects at rates far lower than any municipal government can get on the market. Our rates for municipalities are 1.5% lower than the Government of Canada bond rate and even further below market rates. It’s simple: municipal governments can’t find a better rate on financing for brownfield remediation.
In addition to our unbeatable financing, GMF also produces webinars, case studies and workshops to support brownfield remediation and redevelopment.
Our October 14 GMF webinar, “Opportunities for Community Revitalization in Québec,” brought together experts to talk about brownfields as catalysts for community revitalization. Speakers included Jacques Hébert, GMF’s Regional Coordinator for Québec, and Serge Barbeau of SBSC Environnement. The webinar presentations are now available online.
GMF was happy to welcome municipalities and their partners to the Canadian Brownfields Conference, October 26–28 in Vancouver. GMF hosted two sessions: a panel, “Show Me the Money: Maximizing Your Investment,” and a workshop, “Big Ideas from Small Towns.” The conference illustrated that there is a growing interest in sustainable remediation, brownfield financing opportunities, and resources to support municipalities in their brownfield development projects.
