| PCP Update | |||||||||
|
The past year has seen considerable activity among members of the Partners for Climate Protection (PCP) program. Since March 2008, 23 municipalities have joined PCP and those in the network have completed 40 corporate and 30 community milestones. PCP is pleased to welcome its newest members: the City of Rossland (B.C.), the City of Oshawa (Ont.) and the Village of Notre Dame de Lourdes (Man.). PCP members are achieving quantifiable reductions in emissions. Results from an initial scan of municipal reductions measures demonstrate that member municipalities have reduced GHGs by 95,000 tonnes through corporate actions and by 249,000 tonnes through community-wide actions. A second measures report is under development. |
