Q&A: Trois-Rivières
The City of Trois-Rivières recently announced the undertaking of a major revitalization project: Trois-Rivières sur Saint-Laurent. To help in redeveloping this brownfield site, the city received a below-market loan from FCM’s Green Municipal Fund™.

During the annual meeting of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative held in June in Trois-Rivières, we met with

The theme of this year's conference is particularly relevant to today's economic landscape, with a program geared toward the critical issues of reinvestment and stimulation of the economy. The conference features workshops, tours, and three full days of networking in the Brownfields Marketplace.

Program updates
ACT funds 17 new initiatives

In June 2009, ACT announced $84,000 in grants to support 17 new initiatives. ACT provides grants of up to $5,000 to local teams made up of municipalities, builders and housing stakeholders who are working to improve planning and building regulations in their communities to lower the cost of housing and increase housing options. ACT received over 400% more applications in this funding round than it received in the previous year.

PCP releases new resources and welcomes new member


The newest addition to the Partners for Climate Protection (PCP) toolkit is now available. Municipal Resources for Adapting to Climate Change features seven municipalities starting to think about adaptation in their communities. Also included are lists of scientific resources and planning tools that have been used by other municipalities.
